18 month check-up

Last week Harrison had his 18 month check up. It went great. His is 33.5 inches tall (70%) and 27lb (60%) which is a big jump from 3 months ago. He was meeting all of his developmental checks except using 6 word sentences (really 6 words). He received his last shot until he goes to kindergarten.

  • Harrison has about a 30 word vocabulary. He mainly just gibber-jabbers and throws in words that his knows. Some of his words: Mama, Daddy, Nana, Papa, Davis, Muggie, Lexie, Cooper (ooper), yes, no, again, more, please (pease), thank-you (ank-you), bath, doggie, pig, cat, duck, fish, hat, cow, turtle (tur-tle), ball, balloon (boon), drink (ink), eat, truck, up, down, go, Mickey, Mini, Donald, Daisy, Goofey (oofey) … He repeats new words daily but does not consistently use them. He has a few phrases; “where it go” “there it is” "one, two, three" "ready-go"
  • Harrison loves to eat turkey, ham, macaroni and cheese, pizza, yogurt bites, grapes, and carrots.
  • He loves music and making music. He is a dancer! His favorite dance moves are clapping, twisting, and spinning in a circle.
  • His favorite activities are art time, story time, bath time, playing with the dogs, and playing with his sand and water table (just water for now).
  • Harrison loves stuffed animals. He will carry them all over the house.
  • He can count to 3.
  • He acts out the songs Patty Cake and Wheels on the Bus.
  • He points to his hair, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, teeth, belly, belly button, hands, knees, feet, toes.
  • Harrison takes one 2 hour nap and sleeps from 7 to 7.
  • He has 10 teeth. The 4 front and bottom teeth and one molar on his bottom left side and one molar on his top left side.

Harrison had is last day of Mothers Day Out last Friday. So his teacher, Mrs. Amy and I had a little conference. She told me that Harrison loves art, playing outside, and playing with animal (stuffed/toys). I asked her about Harrison’s interactions with the other kids. She said that he attempts to share and does not typically take toys away from other kids. She did say that H is easily intimidated by the other kids. She said that they know they can come up to H and take his toy away and he does not do anything about it. (Jeff was not fond of that comment)

Harrison, we can not believe that you are almost 19 months old! You are our world. We love you!
