For h's birthday we asked our friends not bring gifts for Harrison but donations to a local charity. Our kids are soooooo bless and we want them to truly understand the joy in giving to others. The reason we picked this charity is it benefits children and their caregivers. My mom, Harrison's Nana, was staying up at the mayo clinic from July to November. My family (primarily my dad) was serving as my mom's caregiver. About twice a month I was going to help Nana (relieve my dad) and take her to her Dr. appointments/treatments. Harrison understood the concept of staying somewhere else in order to be closer to your doctors /the hospital plus we wanted to be able to help children. So this was a prefect organization and Harrison could relate.
This is about half of the stuff we collected, it was a cold morning so Harrison was not in the mood for pictures:)
We left the girls with a sitter and H and i had an amazing time. He loved getting a tour of the facility and all the attention!!! So proud of H, hopefully we will be able to give back in some small way every year!
